Description:
Woven Olla was inspired by two precious resources local to Santa Fe: water and knowledge. I became interested in how each of these flowed and how they were contained. The sculpture, a steel framework in the shape of a traditional Pueblo water jar, or olla, is woven with colored fiber and suspended above the library’s entry.
Visitors to the library enter underneath the vessel, recalling the way water jars were traditionally carried upon the head.
