Description:
This temporary installation at the Science Museum of Minnesota’s “Light & Color” exhibit was inspired by a curving wall there that was available for my use. I had an overwhelming urge to fill the space created by the wall. Using fiber and a stapler, I traversed from one side to another, until the mass of strings slowly expanded and created thick bands that intersected each other at slight, unexpected angles. The near-parallel strands created a moire-effect of shimmering as one moved past the installation, which was viewed in a darkened space.
