Nylon parachute cord
Commissioned by the Minnesota Museum of American Art
Description:
For this temporary installation, I was given a corner in the MMAA’s Project Space in downtown St. Paul. Drawn to the walls themselves, I imagined an installation that would grow from the smallest crux of the inside corner and expand outward, the span distance increasingly getting longer. I selected nylon parachute cord for its vibrant colors, elasticity, and diameter. As I worked with a stapler, traversing the walls, the increasing tension introduced by the cord necessitated that I reinforce the framing of the wall itself.
