Description:
To mark Texas Tech University’s centennial year, 100 Reflections reimagines the university’s iconic Double T, which is usually represented as a flat logo, as an immersive three-dimensional sculptural installation. One hundred unique steel pillars symbolizing each of the university’s 100 years, spring up from a Double T-shaped concrete foundation. An imaginary plane cuts the pillars at a steep angle to reveal the logo, so it appears to rise toward the big Texas sky. From different angles, the famous logo appears more and less clear. Atop each pillar, a mirrored Double T reflects the sky above and hints at the past, present and future.
