Water, Ecology, Community

July 30, 2021

“Water, Ecology, Community” is a new work that was installed this spring at the St. Paul corporate headquarters of Emmons & Olivier Resources, Inc., a water-centric engineering and environmental consulting firm whose mission is to care for the earth and its inhabitants.

To create this artwork, employees of Emmons & Olivier, Inc. selected three photos from past projects they felt best represented their firm’s overarching values: Water, Ecology, and Community.

A composite image, printed on aluminum, was mounted in a maple frame measuring over 12 feet long.

Polished stainless steel slats of varying sizes are held by angled cuts in the frame. Saw-blade widths and sixty-fourths of an inch were critical.

The piece melds the firm’s core values into a fluid, dynamic composition that changes with one’s perspective.

Randy not only created the piece but also installed the finished work, including the corporate logo.
