We did some video footage of Sky Portal.  I see it as the first part in a two-part series.  It’s really about the sculpture as it relates to the balloon museum, which it’s part of, and then just the greater landscape that it’s in.  There’s an advertising firm in Albuquerque that does drone photography, and they do all the photography for the Balloon Fiesta, which is the international hot air balloon gathering–the largest in the world–that happens there every October.  And I noticed they had some great footage of that and asked them to do a little bit of footage for the sculpture.

The sculpture was completed in 2014 and it was commissioned by the city of Albuquerque, which works in partnership with the International Balloon Museum.
