installing Close, Closer, Closest

Close, Closer, Closest was successfully installed at Close Park in Toledo, Ohio, in mid-November. Here are some photos of the process:

This was the landscaping at the site before the pole installation.
The poles received an industrial-caliber paint job in Minnesota.
Here are the poles arriving in Close Park just in time for a snow storm!
This was pole #1 of 350.
The sunlight colored the poles more brilliantly than I imagined.
Below freezing temperatures and snow didn’t stop the Perrysburg Landscaping crew.
Each pole was checked for plumb as it was driven 4-5 feet below ground level.
The poles will act as time capsules when their caps are removed in the spring and messages deposited by community members.
Someone found an unintended way to engage the installation- learning to walk!
